Born in Usigome Ward (now Sinzyuku Ward), Tokyo, 1938.
In March 1945, Tokyo was air-raided. Big Air-raid to Tokyo.
In May 1945, another air-raid attacked Tokyo.
In August 1945, Japan surrendered. I did not hear the Emperor's broadcast. My family had no radio receiver.

Academic Career

In 1950, graduated from Omukai Elementary School, Sibuya, Tokyo.
The mother of HRH Princess Masako was my classmate for a short period.
In 1953, graduated from Waseda Junior High School.
In 1956, graduated from Waseda High School.
In 1961, graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Engineering.
In 1963, graduated from Postgraduate School, the University of Tokyo.
In 1975, Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo, Mathematical Engineering.

Profession

1963, joined in Central Research Laboratory, Hitachi Ltd.
Engaged in Speech Recognition, Character Recognition, etc.
1989, Professor of Shinshu University, Faculty of Engineering.
2003, Professor of Kyushu Sangyo University, Faculty of Information Science.
