Big Air-Raid in Tokyo

At the final stage of WWII, U.S. Air Force raided many cities indiscriminately. Especially, Tokyo was raided almost completely.

On March 9, 1945, the day before the Anniversary of Japanese Army, the down town of Tokyo was bombed. I remember the red sky on that night.

It is said that about 100,000 innocent citizens were killed by the air-raid.

On May 25, 1945, near the Anniversary of Japanese Navy, the remained area was bombed. After the March air-raid, my family moved to a suburban city of Tokyo. I saw the red sky in Tokyo area from the city. On that night, my house was burnt. If we had stayed in Tokyo, we would have been killed.
