Yoshihiro Yasutake is a full Professor at Kyushu Sangyo University and the principal investigator of an independent research laboratory (Yasutake Laboratory, Room 12614) in the Department of Information Science. To support the basic data infrastructure of regional public transport, the laboratory develops AI-enabled edge devices and tools that assist in creating operational data (for example, GTFS route and timetable data). We work with local community bus operators to support sustainable operation.

We are replacing the KERNEL board used in the department's hardware courses (Computer Organization I and II) with a new teaching environment that simulates a model computer, including interrupt handling and integrated assignment submission.

We propose perception models that a robot needs in order to drive, and apply machine learning based on those models. Applying the results to autonomous mobile robots enables high-precision driving.
