The emerging cloud computing technology as an abstraction of concealed complex infrastructure of virtualized resources and provided as web services, has spurred the grand challenges in computing. The aim of the workshop is to provide a venue of scientific interaction of grand challenging research areas of and development of future platforms of complex network computing system technologies and applications. The accepted papers of the FISTA-2011 workshop will be published by the Conference Publishing Services (CPS). Furthermore, selected high-quality papers in FISTA-2011, after further revision and extension, will be published in International Journal of Pervasive Computing and Communications, or the Journal of Ubiquitous Computing and Intelligence.
